We’re seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as Production Operator. At Pipeworks, the Production Operator (Brew, Cellar, Pack) is a vital and flexible role in the team effort to make great beer. Production Operator works in coordination with and between the cellar, in packaging, and on the brew deck.

In this position, you will work in coordination with Pipeworks management to produce wort, monitor fermentation, add ingredients to beers-in-progress, prepare tanks for transfers, and package beer.

At Pipeworks, the Production Operator (Brew, Cellar, Pack) is a vital and flexible role in the team effort to make great beer. “Production Operator” works in coordination with and between departments in the cellar, in packaging, and on the brew deck. Each stage of production is as important to the final product as the beer ingredients themselves.

As our team expands, we’re seeking a detail-oriented individual for this new Production Operator position. In this position, you will work in tandem with hot and cold side teams and Pipeworks Management to aid in wort production, fermentation monitoring, adding ingredients to beers in fermentation, preparing tanks for beer transfers, and packaging beers.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Wort production on a 30 bbl 4-vessel NSI brewhouse
- Raw material management including organizing, handling, and measuring
- Dry hop and add other ingredients beers using scissor lift or ladder
- CIP and COP procedures on brewhouse vessels
- Operation of our Wild Goose canning line
- Filling kegs and operation of 3-head keg cleaning station
- Identify and implement improvements to maximize package quality and operations efficiency
- Coordinate with Brewhouse, Lab, Lead Cellar on scheduling of daily activities
- Work with Lab and Brewhouse to harvest and pitch yeast & maintain yeast brinks
- Transfer beer from fermentation vessels to bright tanks
- Accurate and detailed note-taking of all procedures
- Must be willing to be trained to handle chemicals with an emphasis on cleaning and sanitizing protocols
- Participate in troubleshooting of brewery operations, including fluctuations in production schedules. Occasionally long hours and overtime may be necessary - —- - Familiarity with Brewhouse and wort producing timetables and activities as they relate to cellar operations
- Timely and complete filing of paperwork
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the day and at the end of shift
- Being an everyday ambassador for Pipeworks Brewing and all of our team members
- Must be 21+ years of age

The Best Candidates for this position will have:

- 1 years of brewery experience required for this position
- capacity to identify mechanical issues and assist in troubleshooting
- Willingness to work until the job is done correctly
- Experience with packaging equipment changeovers and mechanical adjustments
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to regularly lift/carry heavy supplies, like kegs of beer
- Ability to work in a brewery environment which may be loud, slick, humid, and hot
- Ability to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
- Adequate math and reading comprehension skills to properly calculate dilution of chemicals, follow the instructions and record beer movement
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and within a team
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and work through setbacks
- Ability to (or able to learn) how to operate a scissor lift up to 25ft above grade, forklift and pallet jack
- Ability to work on your feet, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
- Are ready to learn, but also ready to bring their experience to the table!
